Tool: Sims 2 NPC Replacer

Auf http://www.simwardrobe.com wird ein Tool angeboten, mit welchem man das Standardaussehen oder besser die Standardkleidung von NSCs dauerhaft verändern kann.

übrigens, das programm lädt nur dateien, die im ordner thesims sind, nicht in diesims. wenn ihr eure downloads also nutzen wollt, müsst ihr sie in einen entsprechenden englischen ordner verschieben

Programm startet nicht

Vielleicht kann mir jemand helfen. Ich habe mir den NPC-Replacer installiert, aber leider kommt eine Fehlermeldung beim start, dass es den Pfad nicht finden kann und dann endet es? Ich habe auch schon die Ordner von Sims in die englischen umbenannt, aber es funktioniert nicht....

Der Replacer benutzt das Verzeichnis
\Eigene Dateien\EA Games\The Sims 2\

NPC's sind z. B. der Gärtner, das Hausmädchen, Handwerker usw.

@Andi8104: Ich habe ja die deutsche Version... lege ich dann unter EA GAmes einfach einen englischen Ordner an und kopiere meine Downloads dort hinein?

Leider kann ich nirgendwo auf der Seite eiine Emailadresse des Autoren finden, sonst hätte ich ihn mal wegen des hartverdrahteten Pfades angemailt. Falls jemand eine findet oder kennt: Bitte PM an mich.

I've found this very nice tool on your homepage simswardrobe and brought it to the attention of the german community.

There's one problem, however:

The path to the downloads seems to be hardcoded into the program and since the path differs here in germany it would be very nice to have an option to change it.

In english the path is:

\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\

in german it reads:

\Eigene Dateien\EA Games\Die Sims 2\

"My Documents" or "Eigene Dateien" is set by the Operating System, but "The Sims" and "Die Sims" is set by the Sims2 installation routine.

It would be really nice of you if you could adapt your program to this problem, as I think it may occur with other languages also. I can offer my help if you're too busy for that (I hope my VB-skills are adequate... ), I can also try to translate it.

Tja, bislang leider keine Antwort vom Autoren.

Werd mal sehen, ob ich vielleicht zumindest den Pfad mittels des Resource Hackers ändern kann...

Edit: Kann man leider nicht...

Es gibt eine neue Version vom 17.04.06
und funktioniert korrekt.

"There was a problem with my Sims 2 programs for users that were using some non-English versions of the game. Specifically, the German, Spanish, French, Dutch and Portuguese language versions of Sims 2 had a data path that was something other than "The Sims 2" (some other language versions may have been affected as well). The Sims 2 NPC Replacer was throwing an Error 76 on the title screen while the Hack Conflict Detection Utility was simply not doing any detecting.

Both programs have now been updated with new path detection code. This code should work with all language versions of The Sims 2 that use a western character set. The programs are identical to the original versions, so if you don't have a non-English version of Sims 2 with the problem, please don't download the programs again."

Ah, prima. Ich hatte natürlich nur auf der Downloadseite nachgesehen und nicht auf der Startseite der Präsenz, deswegen war mir der Hinweis zu den Features der neuen Version leider entgangen...

Na ist doch cool, der Autor reagiert auf Anregungen... )
